Attack on a base in Iraq, 2 Americans and a Briton are dead

Three soldiers, two American and one British, were killed in a rocket attack on a military base in at-Taji in Iraq. At least 10 soldiers were injured, according to the news agencies.

The attack took place on Wednesday, 11th of March. 15 small rockets fell on the base in at-Taji, north of Baghdad. Sources from AP agency reported that more than a dozen members of the base personnel suffered in the attack.

Washington has not yet officially accused any of the terrorist groups of the attack, but the AP agency says it was probably carried out by Kataib Hezbollah or another Iranian Shiite militia.

The US believes that Kataib Hezbollah is behind a rocket attack on a military base near the city of Kirkuk in Northern Iraq that occurred at the end of last year. A civilian employee of the American military mission was killed there, and six people were injured. At least 25 people were killed and 55 wounded in retaliatory attacks by the US aviation.

Kataib Hezbollah has been recognized by the US Department of State as a "foreign terrorist organization" since 2009.
