Kim tests rockets again.
North Korea launched at least one rocket on Saturday morning (local time), which fell into the ocean off the east coast of the country - said the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff of the army of South Korea. Japan's defence ministry claims it was a short-range ballistic missile.
Japan has reported that the missile fell into the sea outside the waters of Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone.
If reports are confirmed that the rocket have been one or several short-range ballistic missiles, it means that Pyongyang has carried out its fourth such test this month. The previous ones took place on March 2, 9 and 21. In the last case, based on photos published by North Korean state media, analysts identified these missiles as KN-24 short-range ballistic missiles.
Pyongyang had previously not carried out rocket tests for three months. At the end of last year, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced that in 2020 North Korea would expand its nuclear weapons capacity in response to "gangster" sanctions and pressure from the US.
Talks about North Korea's nuclear potential between Pyongyang and Washington remain in deadlock after the second summit meeting of US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.
