South Korean armed forces have reported that North Korea launched several short-range manoeuvre missiles on Tuesday towards the Sea of Japan. Shortly afterwards, North Korean fighters fired air-to-ground missiles.
According to a South Korean army's announcement, missiles were launched near the city of Munczon in the province of Kangwon in the South of the country. According to the BBC, after reaching a distance of about 150 kilometres, they landed in the Japanese Sea, which separates the Korean Peninsula from Japan.
According to AP, several dozen minutes later, North Korean fighters fired an unknown number of air-to-ground missiles.
On April 10, Kim Jong Un visited a military base
The event took place on the 108th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the People's Republic of Korea Kim Ir Sen. This is another of a series of rocket and artillery shell tests carried out by Pyongyang in recent weeks. At the same time, the North Korean regime sharply criticized US diplomats and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, accusing them of sabotaging negotiations on North Korea's nuclear and missile program.
On Sunday the 12th of April, North Korean state media reported that Kim Jong Un visited a military base on April 10 and watched the exercises.
